d&c 29:7

And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts

Guess who's still in Vancouver? Your fav northwest missionary has returned because I am in an area where I have a computer at the public library to use. My friends, we are in a time of harvest. Gone are the days of planting seeds by our quiet and subtle example. It is time that we as missionaries (that means all us members, mind you. see baptismal covenants ;)) gather the elect by heeding the counsel given to us at the October 2014 General Conference session by Elder David A. Bednar. It really is a time to invite all to "come and see".

It is my testimony that God lives. Jesus is the Christ. Joseph Smith is the prophet of this dispensation and through him, Jesus Christ restored His Gospel to the earth. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today and his words are the words of our Father in Heaven. I know the Book of Mormon to be true because I have asked my loving Heavenly Father with a sincere heart, real intent to act and continue to act on the answers I'm given and with all the faith in Jesus Christ that I have been gifted by my Heavenly Father through my study and diligence. This is a glorious work I am privileged to be apart of! As are you. We have been blessed to know these things and it is our commission to share this knowledge with others by inviting them to come and see. Invite them to talk with your missionaries! Hopefully they're as cool as me ;)

With all the aloha I can send through the air, see y'all next time :) do the right thing. xoxo

alooooooha!

hey y'all!
my name is sister de leon and i am serving in the washington vancouver mission. i am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. i love gospel music, chocolate sourdough bread is my weakness and i live for sunny days with a cool breeze and green grass.

let's get to know each other shall we?
i'm the youngest of five. i've got big curly hair. i wish i was better at listening and i would rather play sports all day long than do a workout video.

but let's get down to the nitty gritty, okay? yes i'm the youngest of five kids in my family here on earth but i also know that i have a loving father in heaven who loves to laugh with me, loves to hear from me and will always be there for me. yes, i've got big curly hair and yes it has lots of secrets -- just kidding ;) physical characteristics do set us apart from one another but we are all quite literally spirit children of Heavenly Father. yes, i really do need to work on listening. i tend to do this thing where i will tune into what the other person is saying just long enough to form a response and present a convincing rebuttal. not the point. the point of listening is to do so with an open mind. maybe what that person has to say really will change my life and maybe it won't-- but one thing is for sure: if i don't listen at all, i'll never know. and finally, i really would rather play sports (namely volleyball, basketball and football) all day long than do a workout video. i'm more of a 'experience and learn' kind of person versus a 'stay inside and copy'. know what i mean?

fabulous, now that we know each other, will you listen? to me, sure, but more importantly to the Holy Ghost? you and i have got a lot of differences, but the things we have in common will...surprise you. that Holy Ghost i talked about will never lead you astray. He works right alongside Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. all three of them love you, me and everybody else. to make sure you're not veering (and let's be real-- to make sure i'm not veering either) will you pray to know what i share is true? i know it is, but that doesn't matter because you've got to know it is.

that little hyperlink will take you to one of my favorite stories in the Book of Mormon. will you read it? if you're a speedracer reader like me, you'll be done in a wink. take careful note of the way you feel when you read it. might surprise you when that clarity of mind hits ya or when peace fills your heart -- that's the Holy Ghost. it's called confirming revelation. you'll get that feeling every time you read as long as you do it with a sincere heart, with real intent and with faith in Jesus Christ. promise :)
